Project Summary

.Tagus – Portugal's Artery

“Tagus – Portugal’s Artery” is a one-of-a-kind aerial expedition across the entire Portuguese stretch of the Tagus River — from Vila Velha de Ródão to Lisbon — flying low, landing near, and listening from within. The river's mouth is already well documented. We want to reveal the journey. The Tagus winding through the heart of the country, connecting villages, towns, hills, and fields — more than a landscape, it is a living artery pulsing with history, culture, and identity. Throughout the journey, we will capture stunning visuals and produce audiovisual content with documentary, touristic, and human value. But beyond that, at every landing, we leave a seed — a talk, a conversation, a challenge.

Main Objectives:
  • To create a unique visual record of the Tagus, especially in the interior of Portugal
  • Donate

To boost local tourism and economic development
  • To value and highlight the historical, cultural, and human heritage of riverside communities
  • To strengthen the bond between the nation and its interior
  • To promote the practice and principles of free flight (with Ramiro Spínedi)
  • To inspire young people to use their mobile phones creatively and purposefully (with Carlos Rix)

Our Mission

What can riverside communities expect? Value. Visibility. Connection. By joining this mission, each
locality becomes part of a greater narrative — one where the Tagus is a bridge between shores, between past and future, between the country and its inland soul. (To me, the Tagus eventually flows into the story of the Americas.) We aim to encourage tourism, attract visitors, bring light to local commerce, and spark in young people the desire to see their homeland with new eyes. More than a documentary, this is a call: the interior of Portugal deserves to be at the center of the map — and of the heart.

Talks Along the Way

Every stop we make along the Tagus is more than a technical landing — it’s an opportunity for real human connection.

We offer, completely free of charge, 40-minute talks in schools, cultural centers, or public spaces. These are designed especially for young people, but are open to everyone in the community.

We’re not here just to fly or film. We’re here to ignite curiosity, inspire pride in local heritage, and awaken the storyteller within each person we meet.

We Offer These Talks...

Because we believe this project is not only about documenting a river — it’s about opening doors.
Doors to new ideas.
Doors to future paths.
Doors to the power of seeing one's own town, culture, and river with different eyes.

These talks are seeds we leave behind — so something greater may grow.

Ramiro Spínedi introduces the world of free flight — its philosophy, challenges, and what it teaches about courage, balance, and perspective. His talk is both motivational and technical, often awakening dreams in those who’ve never imagined flying.

Carlos Rix shares how a mobile phone — when used creatively — can open doors and transform lives. With real stories and personal experience, he inspires young people to tell their own truths, explore journalism, and find their voices through technology already in their hands.
